I hate the term “aromatherapy”. Know why? Because the volatile organic extracts we call “essential oils” have a lot more to offer than exaggerated miracle cures you get from just sniffing a bottle.

Ever wish someone would take a more scientific approach to the study of essential oils? Ever try to find real medical studies on volatile extracts?

My name is Lisa Barger and, just like you, I’ve often wished that someone—anyone—would look at these amazing botanicals in a way that was a little heavier on the facts and a bit lighter on the hocus-pocus.

Ever notice how most aromatherapy web sites are just reprints of the popular aromatherapy books? They just repeat the same old, worn out information. References (if they’re even listed) are usually not case studies or research papers. They’re just re-writes of books you can pick up at any bookstore. And what about all those e-books out there that do exactly the same thing? Or those content mills full of “this is good for this” and “that is good for that” nonsense?

Welcome to EssentialOilDatabase. While aromatherapy will never replace mainstream medicine, it never saw the legitimacy it should have. Thanks in no small part to some of the biggest names in the field squabbling amongst themselves and others making outrageous claims about nearly-miraculous healings, this centuries-old art form is often discarded as just another offshoot of herbal medicine.

But essential oils have more to offer than that. No, they won’t heal burns in the blink of an eye or close serious wounds without scars. But they can enrich your life, promote a positive healing environment and offer you a low-chemical way to scent, freshen and clean your home.

Let me help you separate the fact from the fiction when it comes to essential oils and aromatherapy.
