Candle Diffusers

Although some manufacturers are now offering Flameless Candle Aroma Oil Diffusers, when most people think of candle diffusers, they picture a tall unit with a small well suspended over a tea-light candle. These units use the gentle heat produced by the candle to slowly warm the oil and encourage diffusion into the air.

Although they certainly come with their own share of issues—not the least of which is the risk of fire that any candle brings with it—these artistic diffusers have definite advantages over more utilitarian devices. They can be quite beautiful and come in a staggering array of designs. And Candle-powered aromatherapy diffusers offer something no other aromatherapy diffuser can—the romantic and elegant flickering of candle light.

They can also be very economical. Unlike nebulizing diffusers, which may need at least a tablespoon or more of oil to work properly, candle diffusers need only a few drops of oil in their well. Additionally, they tend to be more portable; no plug in is needed.

Because they produce heat, candle-powered diffusers are best used with heat-stable oils like the mint oils, cinnamon or clove. Although they can be used with any other oil for a short time, the heat produced by the candle will eventually cause delicate oils like lavender, jasmine rose to mutate.

But if you have the room to use them safely, Candle-powered aromatherapy diffusers add a layer of ambiance that is simply unmatched by electric diffusers.
